PROF.DR. Benny Mantin

Benny is an associate professor in the Department of Management Sciences at the University of Waterloo, Canada.  He received his Ph.D. from the University of British Columbia, and M.Sc. as well as B.Sc. from Tel-Aviv University. His research covers different aspects of dynamic pricing and revenue management, supply chain management, and transportation economics. Benny has also been engaged in consulting on air-transport polices and provided expert opinion in an aviation case.

In his research, Benny addresses topical and compelling questions, such as: What are the drivers and implications of price volatility in the presence of strategic consumers? What are the policy implications of airlines’ varying code sharing agreements? And do presentation formats matter to transacted prices? He has published the resultant research manuscripts, as well as many others, in leading journals such as Marketing Science, Production and Operations Management, and Transportation Research Part B, to name a few. Benny serves as a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Air Transport Management.

Benny’s teaching portfolio includes inventory and revenue management, economics of air transportation, logistics management for air transportation, as well as advance information systems and business analytics in air transportation. Benny teaches regularly as part of the M.Sc. In Air Transport Management Program (an ITU-Boeing-Turkish Airlines initiative), where he also supervises aviation graduation projects.
