Dr. Konstantinos Kalligiannis has a strong aviation focused background both in terms of his academic qualifications (both Master’s and PhD degrees specialized in Aviation) as well as in terms of his professional career (in the international aviation consulting industry) as well as in academia (has been teaching aviation courses both in the US and Europe) and in providing airport professional training.
In terms of his Academic Qualifications, Konstantinos holds a PhD in Airline Branding from Cranfield University, an MSc in Airport Planning and Management from Loughborough University, an MSc in Air Transport from Cranfield University and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Luton University.
In terms of his Academic Career, Konstantinos is currently an Assistant Professor in Aviation at the Hellenic American University (joined in 2010). Before that, he taught the Marketing Management Class for the Online MBA for Aviation Professionals at Daniel Webster College (U.S.) as well as in the Cyprus Institute of Management in Cyprus and NYC in Greece.
In terms of his Airport Professional Training Career, Konstantinos is an airport trainer/instructor for Edgewater and is providing airport training for Abu Dhabi International Airport’s Gulf Center for Aviation Studies (GCAS) for their Al Ecla program (e.g. Airport Business, Terminal Operations, etc.).
In terms of his Aviation Consulting Career, Konstantinos has played a key role in major and challenging airport projects of the global aviation industry. Some of these high profile recent projects include the bid development for the Greek Regional Airports’ privatization in Greece, the Airport Operations Manual (AOM) update for Pafos International Airport in Cyprus, and air traffic forecast development for EC Harris. Other high profile airport projects that he has participated in the past include: the Master Plan Development for the New Lisbon Airport and the Portuguese airports' Privatization Process Tender Documentation development for NAER in Portugal; the AOM Development for the Certification and the Airside Operational Readiness & Transfer for the New Larnaka Airport in Cyprus; the Operational Plan Development for Athens International Airport during the 2007 Champions League Final; The Airside and Terminal Capacity Assessment projects for New Delhi International Airport, etc). Konstantinos has also been involved in various airline start-up feasibility studies and business plans development, while at the beginning of his aviation consulting career was also involved in Airport Social and Economic Impact studies, Airline Route Development Funding Projects, Feasibility studies, etc.
